Also well-known as "Action de grâce", the Canadian Thanksgiving is an annual one-day holiday to give thanks for the things that have been harvested. The official date for this event was Monday, October 13 - but the harvest of this year is still available: How about some Peanuts, Cranberries or Sweet Potatos?

The first Thanksgiving in Canada was celebrated in 1578 by an explorer named Martin Frobisher. Having finished a long journey, he gave thanks for surviving and founded the traditional holiday. On January 31, 1957, the Canadian Parliament proclaimed that Thanksgiving is "(...) to be celebrated on the 2nd Monday in October".
