26 May 10:37 Royal Army vs Pirates: War Zones & Propensity
Until now, all areas have been under the protective custody of the Royal Army. Previously unclosed Free Battle Zones on Castle Field and Gloshire have invited the players to fight against each other without any implications. But today, things will change. The dreaded Pirates have now succeeded in taking over three areas transforming them into dangerous War Zones. Be wary of the new challenges!

War Zones in Florensia: It's Getting Tougher

Supported by those among the Gods who are malevolent towards the prosperity in the world of Florensia, the Pirates have jinxed three areas. Brave ones above level 40 should not hesitate to visit the new War Zones:
  • NEW MAP: Magnel Island: Lava Plateau (lvl 40-60)
  • Pirates of the Black Dragon Base: Hidden Port (lvl 40-60)
  • Chester Island: Rainbow Highland (lvl 60-80)
Before fearing for your lives, we would like to announce that Droes Dungeon for Chester Island or an additional map on Chester Island are in highly priorized development. Although we cannot tell you yet which of the alternative leveling spots for high-level users who do not want to PK will come first and when exactly any of the two options will be added, we want you to know that Chester Island will receive an additional leveling spot.

Additionally, we would like to point out that players who are questing in the Hidden Port will in most cases not be affected by the War Zones.

War Zone: Lava Plateau

A new map named Lava Plateau has been added to Magnel Island. The new map is connected to Castle Field at the upper right corner. New monsters, for example the fire-breathing Flame Crewbarian, the nasty Fire Imp, an Elite Varken and fluttering Burning Scream Bats occupy this area. You'll wish to have a firefighter's gear when you first enter this blazing map!

Rules in the War Zones

In contrary to the restricted Free Battle Zones that were only small parts, the War Zones range over whole fields with only a relatively small security zone at the entrance. The current rules in the War Zones read as follows. Please note that these regulations may change in the future:
  • If you get killed by a player, you will not lose any EXP
  • If you get killed by a monster, you will lose EXP
  • Every player can fight against each other without prior PvP request
  • Members of the same party cannot fight against each other
  • The players' propensity will be affected by killing other players
In order to avoid abuse (e.g. by drawing monsters on other players so they would lose EXP when they die, the Code of Conduct will shortly be updated. In advance, we would like to inform you that drawing monsters on other players is generally forbidden and will result in punishment (e.g. temporary or permanent account bans). Play fair, even though you're a Pirate, will ye! Arrr.

Rules in the Free Battle Zones

To underline the difference between War and Free Battle Zones, the rules in the Free Battle Zones read as follows:
  • If you get killed by a player, you will not lose any EXP
  • If you get killed by a monster, you will lose EXP
  • Every player can fight against each other without prior PvP request
  • The players' Propensity will not be affected by killing other players
Factions: Propensity System

Aside the three Unions named Holy Union, Magistri and Noble Masquer, there are two ways of life in Florensia: Either you choose to become an emissary of and fighter for the honorable Royal Army, or you choose to follow the less earnest, but more dangerous way of the Pirates.

Each of your actions will from now on count: If you kill a monster, your reputation with the Royal Army will increase and your name will become green. The more monsters you kill, the greener your name will be. But if you kill a player in a War Zone, you will instantly become an outlaw, a Pirate and your name will turn red. The more players you kill, the more red your name will be.
  • If a honorable member of the Royal Army kills another member of the Royal Army or a yet neutral player (white name), he will instantly become a Pirate, no matter how many monsters he has killed before.
  • However, if a honorable member of the Royal Army kills a Pirate, his propensity will not change and he will remain a member of the Royal Army (green name).
  • If a lawless Pirate kills a member of the Royal Army or a neutral player, his name will become more red after a certain amount of kills.
  • However, if a lawless Pirate kills another Pirate, his propensity will not be affected (e.g. even if a Pirate kills 1.000 other Pirates, his name will not become more red).
  • If a lawless Pirate one day decides to switch sides in order to become a member of the Royal Army, he has to go on a long journey, as for every shade of red, he has to kill a large amount of monsters. By-and-by, his name will become less red, white and in the end, it will be green.
Which side will you choose? Which propensity will your guild follow?

It's up to you.

Additional Note

As we know this update is an important step supporting the conflict between two unforgiving factions, please don't hesitate to post your feedback in the forum regarding your opinions of the War Zones.
