Cecil's Guide To Florensia
Introduction

Hello! Welcome to Florensia! This is a guide to the game and its associated website. Now, as this is written by someone who is entirely inept at using computer documents, it will have pictures as well as words just so you can get a keen understanding of how this game works. This’ll be sort of like a walkthrough come tip gallery. I’ll be supplementing comments about the game throughout this whole guide so feel free to ignore them. They will just be my advice in general.

Now, this guide is mostly based on the Game itself but I’ll try to slip some things in about various features you can access on the site including Cacha, AP, BP and the associated things you can get by using such features. But that’ll come later on at the end of the guide.

0.1 - Class is in session!

First off, Welcome! I’ll start off with the bare bones. The barest of bones is your class. Your class is basically what style of fighting and clothing you’d like. It’s a bit more than that but this bit is just to bring you up to speed. That’s why this is in the first part; it’s the most important bit!

Let’s start off with the melee guys; Explorers and Mercenaries. Both of these use swords and guns. The difference between the two is that explorers use guns mostly and the mercs prefer swords. They both have two types of weapon and use them accordingly. Mercenaries are great for endurance training and beating back monsters while Explorers are the quick-footed evasion fighters. Both are strong in their own right and both have weaknesses like all the classes.

This all depends on what you want from your character. If you want a gunslinger that’s good against single enemies then I’d go with the Explorer. If you want a good character that’ll beat up bad guys while taking loads of punishment then go for the mercenaries. Both of these use Strength as their attack force. I recommend upping the Strength stat if you want to doll out some serious damage.
But that’s only one side of the coin.

What about the magic users, Nobles and Saints? Well, Saints are fantastic support characters and are great at attacking loads of enemies at once. They can enhance other characters while defending themselves pretty well. Out of all four classes, this one is my second favourite after Explorers.

Nobles are very hard to beat in a battle of magic. They know all sorts of nasty skills that’ll inflict all sorts of nasty effects on other characters or monsters. I’d definitely recommend this class if you like to fight dirty. I don’t think much of their dress-sense though... Nobles are physically weak so heavy swords like the ones Mercenaries use will not suit them. They go with the rapier and Criad weapons which are nice for dealing physical and magical damage. They’re good for all-rounder combat. A great class to start off with.

As with all things, you must try out every class before you decide on which one you like best. It’s not all about levelling believe it or not. Enjoy the class you choose. Don’t choose it because the fighting style kills quickly. That’ll make you very bored very quickly if you don’t like using that class.
Remember that every class has its own little set of skills that it can use. They’re great for fighting but a real headache in the beginning. Go for the ones that suit your desired second class.

0.2 - Second Classes? What are those?

I’ll tell you; Secondary classes are the classes you choose to become at level 40. For example: An Explorer can become an Excavator or a Sniper. This does not actually make you a different class but rather refines the one you already have. It gives you access to both your old skills and your new ones specific to that class. I chose to become a Sniper because they have good offensive skills.

Here’s a list of all the classes and what they change into:
The Following weaponry are recommendations based upon skill set. Feel free to ignore them.
  • Mercenary – Two-handed Sword, One handed Sword and Shield, Rifle, Dagger and Epee
  • Guardian Swordsman – One-handed sword and a Shield, Rifle, Dagger and Epee
  • Gladiator – Two Handed Sword, Rifle, Dagger and Epee
  • Explorer – One-handed Sword, Rifle, Dual Guns, Dagger
  • Sniper – Rifle, One-handed sword, Dagger
  • Excavator – Dual Guns, One – handed sword, Dagger
  • Saint – Criad, Dagger, Two - Handed Sword
  • Priest – Criad, Dagger, Two –Handed Sword
  • Shaman – Criad, Dagger, Two – Handed Sword
  • Noble – Rapier, Criad, Dagger
  • Magic Knight – Criad, Dagger
  • Court Magician – Rapier, Dagger
That concludes my extremely short rendition of the class system. More information is available on the site if you really want to hit the right spot first time. I experimented with all four classes before I discovered that I liked the Explorer class best.

1 - The Beginning

Now, in the beginning of your adventure, you are given the opportunity to do some Tutorial Quests. I would recommend doing these quests because they give you weapons without having to buy them. They also give you two free skill books which will help you out a lot. You see, you start the game with 0 cash. Nothing, nada, no Gelt whatsoever.

Gelt is basically cash. And lots of it makes you a very wealthy person. As we know, money is used to purchase various things in life. It’s no different in Florensia. You get Gelt from quests, monsters and various other sources. Some things like potions and healing items cost next to nothing while objects bought with AP (Real money in short.) can be up to 5 million Gelt which is very, very hard to raise. Gelt is a very important thing so collect seemingly ‘useless’ items to sell on and make more Gelt.

There is a problem with Gelt though. Or rather, the problem is in the weapons and armour you buy. You see, Armour progresses in levels like you do. The connection is that you cannot have that armour until you match that level. The same goes for weaponry. Upon which note, I’d like to refer to Upgrading. Through this, you can upgrade armour and weapons to make them stronger. It only reinforces certain attributes but is very handy in the field of battle. Monsters are very easy to kill when you begin anyway so I wouldn’t worry about this aspect too much. If you ever find armour on monsters then I’d recommend breaking it down into crystals. Crystals are an essentiality item for upgrading and you need a good supply to do it.

Here’s the last word on the start of your adventure: Getting to level 10 is easy. After that it gets harder so save your quests for then. It gets much harder believe me: I‘ve been through it five times so far.

1.1 - Tips and Hints

This is basically the advice section. Before we begin we must bear in mind that I play as an explorer so I’m not inclined to know the finer points of being a mercenary or any of the other classes. I’m just getting that off the bat before I get shouted at for being vague. This is designed to help everyone in general and not specific classes. I may add that to the end but for now we’ll keep this on the helping everyone side.

When you begin your adventure and you complete your quests, you find that you’re running out of them. When you’re level 10 you get about 4 maybe five quests per level. That means you have to grind away (Grinding is monster killing without quests). I recommend you stick with it when you’re level 10 and grind against monsters that give you roughly 1% per kill or more if possible. Hold out to level 13, get your new armour and head to Larksdowns ASAP. There you’ll find Toads and Mudfrogs. I’d kill these little critters until you level enough to get quests. In my experience, 13 to 20 is the hardest slog of the lot next to level 40 to 50. This’ll test your metal all right!

The only advice I can give you is use your stat points wisely, if you don’t you’ll end up with a very weak character. Try putting two on one stat and one on another. Max out those passive skills and hope for the best! The clue on what to put those all-important stat points is the character creation page. Look at those little bars labelled ‘stats’ at the bottom left and see what that class is good at. Try all the classes and you’ll find the perfect one for you. Remember: In Florensia, perseverance is the key!

1.2 - Processes

This is a nice easy section on the ways you can improve your character without levelling. It’ll help you a lot so please read carefully!

When buying weapons and the like, I recommend upgrading them. However, do not buy crystals to upgrade with or you’ll lose money very quickly. Break your old armours instead or break the ones you find. Breaking armour couldn’t be easier! All you have to do is select ‘Item Break’ at the Smithy, select an old armour, break it into crystals then use them to upgrade you new armour! Simple as pie~!

But there’s one aspect of Upgrading that you need to be aware of: You cannot buy upgrade stones. You have to find them on monsters. Another reason to go out killing them is for this purpose. Upgrade stones are quite rare and even now I have trouble finding an appropriate number. When you do have a good amount, you can upgrade your stuff...

The process of upgrading is easy. You select ‘Item Upgrade’ at the Smithy and put in one Upgrade Stone, One Crystal and One Weapon/Armour. Then you hit the ‘Upgrade Item’ button and you can watch your items get stronger!
They’ll up your character’s power considerably and I would not recommend going out there without at least one upgraded item.

Beware of the cap though. Without Mythril Powder or Slate of Ancients, you’ll never get past +3 unless you’re very(^10) lucky. Mythril and Slate is hard to come by in the game so I recommend buying it for AP if you’re going to get it anywhere.

Unsealing items is also a very useful process. When you find armour that has CAPABILITY OF SEAL on it, do not throw it or break it! This is very special. With a bronze, Silver or gold key and a seal pearl of the right grade, you can add a bunch of cool effects to your items. Unseal stuff with the bartender and watch the monsters cower at your might! Other players may want to cower as well because this makes some pretty strong weaponry. Doing this will increase the Player Market (Players selling stuff they don’t want) value.

1.3 - Welcome to the Sea!

It’s time for you to hit the ocean and start exploring the world around you! Florensia is an expansive and wondrous world and it would be a waste to stay on Cardiff Island for too long.

Yes I know it’s nice and easy and you want to stay! But it’s time for both you and I to venture onto the open oceans. If you’ve done all the quests like I asked you to then you should have a ship. Once you’re level 24 you can go to Magnel Island and beat some monsters up there! An exciting prospect I know. I was very happy when I first ventured there and I felt strong. Of course I went to Exeter and felt weak again.

So, get your boat out onto the ocean, read how to control the boat and set sail! When on the ocean for the first time I recommend fighting the weak pirate ships before going to Magnel. When you’re sea level 8 then you may go across the sea to her fantastically huge gate. Not before.

The Ships around Cardiff Island are easy. I’m sea level 12 and I find them to be almost meek compared to some of the horrors I faced on land. As Sea Combat is more fast-paced, I recommend going on your boat when you’re tired of grinding. Believe me, that time will come.

The Sea is a great place to marvel at the big ships and the terrifying monsters. Marvel away as they attack you and rend you to bits. If you want to get ahead on the ocean I recommend you start attacking and levelling as soon as possible. That way you can get to Magnel quicker on your upgraded ship! At level 15 you can relax and enjoy destroying the Pirates of Bloodsea in style. You get a three-masted ship then so keep up the work until then. People will envy you, be assured.

The sea is bountiful too, giving you items and gelt and an extra stat point when you level which is nice for giving you that extra edge over other players. Take your time levelling at sea because generally people are only level 12~15. They are often lower than their land level so don’t be surprised to see a Guardian Swordsman on a little level 8 skiff.

1.4 - Ready to Move on?

Well, you’re level 24 with heavily upgraded items and a fantastic ship. Are you ready for Magnel? Of course you are hot stuff! Get to Magnel ASAP!

Or are you? Are you prepared for the sheer difference between the two? I was confused by the layout of Castle Hall at first just like many others I know. So before you become fully situated there, look around and see what kind of people hang there. There are people on Magnel of a high level that will help you with any quests you need.

When you’re about to go to Magnel make sure you’ve got some healing items for your ship and character for the long journey ahead. Magnel’s first stage is another testing of your metal. But this one’s nice and short, lasting about two levels. As long as you’re determined you can get past these little incompetent things that are called monsters. So get out there, sail to Magnel and go get ‘em tiger! Don’t let any monsters or difficult quests keep you down! Rise above the challenge and get as strong as you possibly can!

2 - Magnum...Sorry, Magnel Island.

Let’s be honest: We’re thrilled to be here on the second Island of your journey. It’s another feather in your cap as far as your character’s concerned. You’re halfway there to becoming your chosen class’s secondary form at level 24 and you’re off to kill some bushes.

But your life as a gardener will have to be put on hold until you have learned your new town’s layout. Once you know that, feel free to buy some more items to heal yourself. You’ve got a big session ahead of you and these recovery items will allow you not to waste time sitting down recovering your energy after a tough fight. You can get straight back to killing monsters and levelling up.

After this, you’ve made yourself a nice base from which to work from on Magnel Island. Prepare to face one of the hardest challenges yet as you try to reach level 38.

2.1 - Recommended Requirements.

When I referred to requirements in the title I didn’t actually mean it as actual requirements. That’s why I’m recommending the following things before you move on to Magnel Island. You’re free to sail to Magnel earlier and attempt to train there but I don’t like the chances of you dying if you’re missing some of the following things.

Are you high-levelled enough?
For a novice I recommend leaving Cardiff Island at Level 24 because you’ll have a one level advantage over the first creatures you meet in Castle Field, the monster house of Magnel Island. Now, on the map you may see a place called Tulach. Easy tiger, you’re nowhere near that level yet. If some advice must be given then I’ll say that the bushes and spiders are a good start for you at level 24.

If you have quests, do them. Quests give you about 10% EXP and are a lot quicker levelling than grinding on its own. If you tell someone you grinded all the way to level 24 they won’t believe you. That or they’ll think you’re a very devoted fan of Florensia. Well, I suppose I am for writing this guide right? At level 40 you will spend some time working on levelling so don’t feel bad if it’s taking you some time to level. If someone’s ahead of you and boasting, feel assured that they’ll be crawling by the time they change class.

You must have the correct Armour and weapons to go. If you’re not fully up to date then you’re likely to get slaughtered. Magnel Island is easy at the start but it does get harder. Weapons and armour are important and cost money. Moreover, you can break these down when you buy you’re fantastic new armour at level 29. Your last armour of Magnel is level 37 armour. Level 45 is your next.

So, when you’re level 30 not much else changes. Another item is added to your list of worries and that’s it: What class should you change to? I like to start thinking about this when I make the character. I made Cecil and thought, literally, ‘I want to be a Sniper because they kill monsters easily!’ Some people may disagree with that but, to be honest; each class has its own merits and downfalls.

You must understand this when thinking about which class to change to. Neither is stronger than the other and I’ve answered many a PM about it. My only advice about changing class is go with the one you like better. Some are area of effect (AOE) and some are Singular enemy classes. Choose according to what you think you’d do well with and not what people tell you. I had a lot of my friends saying ‘be an excavator!’ I went the opposite way just to annoy them. But you shouldn’t let other people influence you as you’re training to that magical level, level 38.

2.2 - Levelling up

Well, this is a section entirely devoted to levelling. In this section I’ll advise you on how to level quickly and get that level as easily as possible. The reason I put it in this section is because it’s towards the later levels in Magnel Island that you have to work hard to level up.

I found that level 38 and 37 were hardest because of the monsters there. The monsters are slightly weaker than the upper-level characters on Magnel. There are several strong enemies at the bottom of Tulach which are good to grind against. If you’re ever stuck go down to the bottom of Tulach. Whatever you do, never take on Draug Brenin by yourself or any boss for that matter. Bosses are challenging and fun to fight together with your friends but if you’re focused on levelling I suggest monsters that are one or two levels higher than yourself. Don’t go lower because they do not give much experience. At lower levels it’s OK to do that because you get 10% per mob (Monster shortened in chat.). If you want to go for a level from 38 onwards go for the stronger monsters.

The last thing in this section has to be: Do not expect to level in an hour once you reach that kind of level. Relax because level 38 to 50 is the hardest part. Once that’s over you get loads more quests and the quicker levelling occurs again. Set yourself a target and reach it in that day. Do not go further. Save it for another day. Take your time about it and work to your own pace. I probably sound like a teacher but the same concept applies.

2.3 - Exeter Here I come!

Here’s the elite’s camp. OK, it’s not the elite but some of them do come here. Exeter is very prestigious as far as islands go. I’ve been to every Island and I find that Exeter is the most beautiful of the lot. Gloshire is interesting to explore but can be restricting at first. When you’re level 43 you can go to a great deal of places in the place. The dungeon is a lot harder than the plane so don’t go there until you’ve got to level 45 at least.

So that’s the intro to Exeter done so now we’ll move onto your changing of class.

3 - Identity Crisis on Exeter?

Once you’ve got to level 40, you will have the chance to change class. I suggest you do it at level 41 because then you can use that handy little weapon they give you. Of course, doing it at forty gives you access to the skills previously closed to you. It really is your call, friend.

Changing class is hard. I suggest you get someone to help you because I found it a bit difficult. Your prime objective is to get the class change quest from Lady Avery. Do that and ask your ‘**** Association Master/Leader’ to change class. Select your class and hey presto, you’re a secondary!

Secondaries are the stronger members of the community, boasting impressive abilities and weapons. I would definitely decline the offer of a million Gelt in exchange for not changing class.
It’s imperative that you do change class if you want to be stronger than before. Players that have advanced in class are often much stronger thanks to their killer weapons. Seriously, Carbine for the Sniper has 100 more PH than the one you buy at the shop. PH affects the power of the weapon.

I must impress this on you however: When you’ve changed class, your appearance does not change! Be aware though: the shops will only ever sell your primary class’s armour and weaponry. However, the good news is that class-specific armour can be found quite easily which is a fortunate occurrence.

Class change was always a target of mine. I built Cecil upon the fact that he was going to be a Sniper. Therefore, my Rifle skills are a lot better than my Dual Gun skills. If you build the character specifically for one class then it’ll make a much better secondary class.

3.1 - General Advice

At the end of your development as a character (Achieving secondary class and all the skills that go with it) you will be seen as a strong player by many. But that doesn’t mean you can stop. There will always be quests to try, people to beat and bosses to annihilate. The world of Florensia is infinite and even the top-level players can still be surprised by how much she has to offer. Believe me, when you reach that higher level you feel so good.

Here’s some advice for the whole of your adventure: Ask away! If you’re having trouble with a quest, or want to have a party with people then just ask away. Nobody will bite your head off or call you a noob. We’re a friendly community and want to keep it that way. Anyone who asks a question shall have it answered.

Never be afraid to adventure further. Even if you’re not at the right level you can get someone who is to escort you there.
Don’t let your level get in the way of exploring the infinite world of Florensia! We’ll all be happy to take a break and help you out. We’ll scaffold future rivals and future friends no matter who they are. Our community is helpful and nice with only the odd asocial member. Rest assured, there’s always someone to help at hand.

And my third and most important bit of advice is perseverance. Stick with it and you’ll get there eventually. Get someone of the same level and try to beat them. Make friends and advance with them as a party of guild. No one’s ever going to call you a weakling. Everyone was a level one at one time and I think that it should be a duty and a privilege to help those lower-levelled than ourselves.

Don’t give up, get motivated and level up. You’ll reap some serious rewards for it.
Finally, let people get to know you. Have a chat in Shout with other people and get to know them. They’ll like you if you’re nice even if you do think another game is better than the one they like. Just be brave and chat. Don’t leave it all to business! Extend into other things you like and meet people of equal interest. Talk to them, get to know them and they’ll help you. I received armour of a higher-levelled person because we were friends. Remember what I said earlier about rewards?

3.2 - The Site

I cannot tell you enough about this! It’s awesomely designed, beautifully crafted and full of friendly members. Yes, Florensia’s official site has many interesting things going on there. I’ll cram as much as I can into this bit.

The Florum (Correct spelling surprisingly) is a place where the members of the Florensia community can come to talk about Florensia’s features and people. It’s the perfect place to pick up on some tips and tricks of the trade. You can also go there to talk about other things. It’s like shout only a lot more people go there and the things you say can be replied to much later in the day when you’re not on. It’s a great place to go if you’re stuck on any aspect of the game. Ask away and you’ll get a nice helpful answer from one of the community.

Also, you can get some premium items in exchange for cash. Items so beautiful that you’ll be the envy of the whole community! Simply recharge your AP then exchange it for these items. You can look sharp and become very strong at the same time! Isn’t that great? If you exchange enough cash for AP you get Bonus Points (BP) which gives you loads of gelt if you exchange them! So break out your wallet and watch people’s eyes turn green!

Staying on the subject of AP, you can exchange it for a completely random prize that could be worth a lot more then actually paying for it! Save your AP and use it sparingly. Gacha is a great invention but I still prefer buying my stuff with the shopping cart. I’m a coward me. So be brave and try the wheel of prizes or just buy it off the rack. Either way you’re getting a lot for your money.

4- The Final Frontier

To this day Florensia is constantly being updated and developed. When I took a month’s break I found several new Islands! Like I said: the world of Florensia is infinite and never ends so once you’ve signed in you’ll never want to leave again!

And so we come to the end of my guide to Florensia. Although I could not cram as much as I wanted to into it I hope it was useful in some way. This long and arduous read you’ve endured will hopefully help you somewhat in your adventure. From novice to expert I hope you’ll look at this guide and find it useful in some way.

I purposely didn’t add everything about Florensia. I have to keep some of my secrets to myself right? Anyway, this is the end result: An extremely long guide that’ll take you all the way to Exeter Island. Remember that as long as you persevere you’ll always come out on top! This has been Cecil Frozone on the case and it’s been real. Hope you found this useful up to a point. Well done for getting to the end...seriously.
