The Avery family had ever lived in a formidable mansion on Exeter Island. Although they seemed to be rich and powerful Lords and Ladies of Glostern, they feared for a loss of power when the King back then returned to the island. To strengthen their own powers, they built a huge laboratory in the underground beneath their mansion. Supported by the money of the Merchant Union Magistri, they started to run experiments for the Noble Masquer Union to create strong soldiers for them.
But Gladis, leader of the Magistri Union found out that powers enforced by darkness were involved in the experiments and she ordered her Union to destroy the laboratory. This plan however failed and the mansion descended into chaos...

In the central hall of the first level, the ghost of Lord Robinson and his vampires are waiting for bravers who dare to face their doom. Robinson had once been a pirate of the Peregrine Falcon and got captured by Lord Avery in the search for new victims for his experiments.

In the last stage of the laboratory of blood, the devastated ghost of Lord Jeffrey is mourning his death and the downfall of his beloved. As time passes by, his hatred toward the humans rises.

The Unions carefully monitored the situation with the mysterious experiments of Lord Avery. Eventually Lord Ian of the Noble Masquers had to release magical guards to keep the horrible creatures and victims of the experiments inside the Avery mansion. The Magistri Union, back then in possession of the most power, had been keeping an eye on the Noble Masquers with great suspicion. The Holy Union also believed that the experiments had gone too far into a direction that could put the whole world in danger once again.

In the course of the experiments, people and monsters had vanished from Glostern and the whole Exeter Island. The haunted souls in the dungeon still ressemble the creatures they had once been - but their minds are shattered and their hearts broken. In their gleaming eyes, nothing more than pain and anger can be seen. Some Saints found out about these creatures.



When the Saints attempted to tell the Holy Union about the creatures, they met a group of Noble Masquers and followers of Ian who had watched the Saints. The Noble Masquers demanded of the Saints to forget about what they had seen in the Avery mansion... else they would regret it. The tension between the two groups rose and all of a sudden, a gunshot was heard as Gladis of the Magistri Union and her guardian soldiers arrived from Glostern.

Gladis ordered her guardians to banish the malevolent Noble Masquers from the Kingdom of Florensia and a horrible fight broke out as the Magistri soldiers started to kill the Noble Masquers. As they were surprised about the attack, the Noble Masquers shattered and fled into the laboratory to save themselves. But they forgot that the doors to the laboratory would close behind them forever as there was no more way out.


Some of the Noble Masquers who had survived made it to the second floor of the laboratory, gathered and fought. The Saints of the Holy Union could neither fight nor help, as the dark magic in the Avery mansion blocked their powers and paralyzed them. Confused and helpless, they had to watch when Gladis' soldiers got hurt without being able to help. The magic the Glostern soldiers used got polluted with the devilish aura of the Noble Masquers and their bodies changed until nothing human was left.

Gladis ordered the frightened Saints to leave the horrible place and the Glostern soldiers initiated their final attack. Gladis wanted to destroy the mansion and to punish the Noble Masquers for their ignorance. However, all Saints got killed by the sinister magical energies emerging from deep inside the laboratory. The battles destroyed what was left of the cages for the evil creatures and these dark monsters escaped and spread within the mansion.

Eventually, Gladis barely escaped from this devastated place. The soldiers she had to leave behind became an easy prey for the sinister creatures. Everyone except for Gladis had died in there and the truth about the mansion lies buried in the underground below the darkened walls. Although magic knights still guard the sealed entrance, there seems to be a way to get inside.


This is the story of the Avery Mansion... and the daughter of the late Lord Avery is still waiting in Glostern for adventurers to relieve her pain. Talk to Lady Avery and help her - she has some quests for the strongest ones among you in store.
