It is an unwritten law, that an era of peace and prosperity is followed by the shadows of war and the pain of a century's war is followed by the salvation of peace. Step by step, the humans trace back the remnants of these periods, back to their origins and back to the origin of magic. The following rough overview shall be a glimpse at the history of Florensia and will be extended with documents explaining the genesis of the world we know today.

 
Once upon a time when mankind believed the world ended where their eyes met the horizon, brave men pioneered a new seaway. They believed that paradise and other mysterious places existed beyond the horizon. Disregarding the laughter of the people, they ventured on an adventuresome travel. They expected to discover lots of things, maybe even the secrets of nature, but at first the wondrous land they seeked after could not be seen at the horizon.

Eventually, the adventurers discovered an unexplored continent. They found an ancient cultural heritage showing signs of mysterious spells as well as exotic animals and plants on this whole new continent. As they realized the possibilities of this wonderful discovery, they hurried back and told the people what they had found. They wanted to raise their nation's will to move on to this new continent henceforth known as the continent of 'Lux Plena', the continent of light.

Most of the people didn't believe them, but some who had faith in the dream of a new world took the risk and ventured out to form a Kingdom in the unknown world. Those who settled there established a flow of bright magical powers and skills driven by the lessons they found in the historical books of the ancestors. They enjoyed the amenities of the blooming land and the silent sea. Legend has it they benefited from a miraculous longevity and eventually, they even learned how to control the heavens by constructing the city of Pardioc which was floating in the sky.

One day, a mysterious and horrible catastrophe occurred. Some said the will of the Gods was violated, others said terrible spirits were awoken that could not be controlled. Rumors spread that they had challenged the Gods with their arrogancy and the disrespectful use of the magic, so all spells ever performed would be reversed to bring them harm. In fact, no one was able to figure out what happened, but the air city had all of a sudden fully disappeared.

The worst was yet to come as nature revolted and caused Lux Plena to burst into several pieces. The magical energies could not be controlled any more and caused unnatural changes in the ocean currents of the sea around Lux Plena.The streaming of the sea and the direction of the wind changed and no ship was able to pass the border between the sea around Lux Plena and the rest of the world. Whenever a ship reached the border, it simply got directed back to its starting point.

The few survivors began to believe the whole world had burst into pieces and started to forget they were captured in a small world with five islands that were the only pieces left of the former continent Lux Plena. An era of chaos and darkness began and war wiped their memories of the time when the air city of Pardioc was floating in the sky. Skills and magical powers were forgotten and once again, the people were caught in their belief that nothing except for them existed.

But as war is followed by peace, peace is followed by war…
